Fuel Injection Enterprises announcement
I'm thrilled to announce that we've just finalized a deal that's been in the works for a while. Fuel Injection Enterprises has just purchased the entire magneto product line from Mallory Ignition. This includes all the magneto-specific inventory, equipment, tooling, trademarks, etc. associated with the Super-Mag and Sprintmag line of products. Mallory Ignition was in search of a partner who would be able to take over their magneto business and be committed to servicing the customer base they'd built up over the last 40+ years. We're proud to say that's us!
When the dust settles in a couple of weeks, we'll ramp up manufacturing here to ensure having plenty of parts in stock when the 2012 season arrives. We'll also begin putting together brand new FIE Super-Mag and Sprintmag systems for on-demand shipment.
Please note that these products will no longer be marketed with the Mallory brand. While existing items in the current inventory are branded with the Mallory logo and can be sold as such, new items manufactured by us will be branded as FIE components.
As owner, I'm determined to do more than just manufacture and maintain stock of the magnetos and service parts. I want to grow the product and bring new capabilities to the Super-Mag and Sprintmag. We have quite a few ideas for making the Super-Mag and Sprintmag even more reliable, powerful and versatile in the years to come. We also plan to resurrect a few components that have been recently discontinued.
The mechanical injection side of the shop remains as busy and committed as ever to providing fast, excellent service while the magneto side of the business expands and grows to meet the needs of the many Super-Mag and Sprintmag customers worldwide. We'll also continue to service/upgrade ANY brand of magneto. By integrating the equipment used by Mallory Ignition here at our shop, we'll be even better equipped to provide the highest quality work with the quick turn-around you've come to expect.

10 amp Super-Mag+ Ultimate Points Mag

This is the most reliable, POWERFUL, tricked out, points-style Super-mag generator on the planet. When Mallory built the Super-Mags, they stopped at 8 amps with the points version because the points they used couldn't take much more than that reliably. We've solved that one! Our "severe-duty" contact points can handle whatever we throw at them. So, we designed an even bigger magnet and a brand new type of winding for the inside that exceeds the Super-Mag V in output. An honest 10 amps of primary current @ 2500 engine RPM translates into more than DOUBLE the output of a Pro-Mag 20 at the spark plug throughout the entire RPM range. This was born to light nitromethane or methanol in extreme boost applications.
The new gold housing contains the specially designed FIE Neodymium Magnet/Poleshoe/Shaft assembly and special winding. The large "severe-duty" contact points require the use of a taller rotor/cap assembly. We utilize our own aluminum adapter ring and fabricated rotor driver that moves everything up and converts to the MSD style cap. We add a huge rotor tang and heat sink to the rotor to prevent any melted plastic. We add the driver of your choice to the bottom and test it through 10,000 engine RPM. Complete with output test report.
8 amp Super-Mag V - Severe-Duty

This is the most reliable Super-Mag V generator on the planet! Proven to exceed expectations lighting gallons of nitromethane in blown nostalgia funny cars. Our customers tell us that adjustments must be made to the idle mixture with this mag...it needs more fuel!
We start with an FIE Neodymium Magnet/Poleshoe/Shaft assembly built in-house. A brand new Super-V winding is added to a polished housing. We add an extra grommet hole for the capacitor pass-thru to prevent any primary short circuits in the event of tire-shake. We then put in our own stainless steel breaker cam (extra dwell time built in!) and special point plate that allows the use of some extreme "severe-duty" contact points. These points can literally last years! These are not beefed up Mallory-style points - they are completely different and require the use of a taller rotor/cap assembly. We've yet to see a single set of these points fail in the field.

Pro-mag 44 Magneto Generator

The most powerful magneto on the planet. Ships with the standard cap and rotor (as pictured). Contact us for an upgrade to the GIANT 5" cap if you plan to retard your timing electronically more than 10 degrees.
Like all new magnetos, points boxes and coils, this unit is LOAD TESTED at our facility to ensure that it meets our high standards for output and capability !

Pro-mag 20 Magneto Generator

The Pro-mag 20 is a simply a Pro-mag 12 with Pro-mag 44 magnets in it. The great thing about this setup is that it is a tremendous amount of output while utilizing the 8106 points box that includes a rev limiter and transformer coil in one unit. This keeps the cost of this system low because the Pro-mag 44 requires a separate points box and coil.
In a lot of applications, the Pro-mag 44 is extreme overkill and the Pro-mag 20 is right there for a very capable, lighter weight, solution that requires less space and has a lower cost of ownership.
Like all new magnetos, points boxes and coils, this unit is LOAD TESTED at our facility to ensure that it meets our high standards for output and capability.
Remote Changeover/Kill Switch for MSD Pro-mags

This little box is a solution to several problems we hear about all the time.
Racers who run a crank trigger pickup with their MSD Pro-mag would generally like to still use the pickup inside the magneto selectively. They'd like to utilize different timing between the two trigger sources and be able to switch back and forth between them at will for a start retard for example. Regular changeover switch setups must be on the motor because running the trigger signals all the way to the dash and back can pollute the signals with noise causing misfiring.
This device allows the driver to switch between the trigger sources using a remote switch wire. Simply ground the select wire for one trigger signal, unground it for the other.
Another common headache is killing a Pro-mag elegantly. The 12 and 20 usually need the two wire harness with deutsch connectors run to the dash. The 44 needs a kill solenoid or an expensive high-current switch to kill it. Our little box allows the mag to be killed by cutting the trigger signal OFF remotely. With the kill wire grounded, the motor runs. Unground it to kill the engine safely and elegantly from afar.
Finally, many customers wish to be able to kill the mag when the master disconnect switch on the vehicle is turned OFF. This device connects to vehicle voltage in order to function. When the power is cut, the mag is killed automatically.
The select and kill switches can be placed anywhere on the vehicle and any low current switches can be utilized. The remote wires for this product are only 18 gauge - no heavy high-current wire required. Even if you don't run a crank trigger, this box is a great kill solution for any Pro-mag
