Nagu iga võidusõitja teab, siis järjekindlus viib võiduni. John Calvert on olnud mees, kes on saavutanud kõrgeid tulemusi NHRA dragracingus. Tal on üle 20 aasta võistluskogemust väga erinevatel radadel. John on võitnud enamus oma sõitudest `68 Ford 428cid Cobra Jet Mustangiga. Ta teab oma autot läbi ja lõhki ning suudab seda ilma probleemideta vastavalt seadistada. Kogemused ja edu aastate jooksul oma autoga andsid talle hea hüppelaua edasiseks. Koos sõbra Larry Kieser`iga tegid nad aastate jooksul erinevaid katsetusi ja edasiarendusi pidamise parandamiseks. Suure töö tulemusena saavutati äärmiselt hea ja konstantne pidamine, mille ühisnimetajaks sai - CALTRACS.

”Stock” klassis, kus John valdavalt sõitis, kogus üha enam NHRA reglemendis ohutus-ja nõuete-eeskirja  punkte. Üks neist dikteeris kasutama selles klassis maksimaalselt 9” laiusi slikk rehve. See aga pani paljud sõitjad dilemma ette, et kuidas saada suur jõud ka maha rakendada. CALTRACS töödati välja John`i garaazis. Larry ja John istusid ja töötasid läbi mitmeid variante kuni leiti see õige. See oli läbimurre saavutamaks maksimaalset tulemust väga rangete NHRA reeglite juures.

CALTRACS traction bar`id on toodetud eesmärgiga saavutamaks maksimaalset tulemust eriti piiratud reeglitega võistlusklassides. 

 

Oleme antud komplekte müünud nii Eestisse, Soome kui ka Rootsi. Eestis kasutavad antud vedrustust nii meie enda team kui ka hetkel "C-klassis" sõitev Chevy Camaro (  sõitjaks - Peeter Sikk )

Veel infot Caltrac vedrustuse kohta
The combination of these components changes the pushing point on the car by redirecting the turning action (spring wrap-up) of the rear axle through the Force Transfer Link into the Front Pivot. The Front Pivot Spring Stop Bolt resists this turning motion and also controls the bending of the leaf spring at its thinnest section. The push into the Front Pivot helps the cars weight shift towards the rear of the car because of a new directed angle of force toward the front of the vehicle. (The "Instant Center" moves farther forward). This is where the system emulates a Four link system !
The pinion angle is also maintained. (See illustration)
  
1. The Front Pivot
Two steel plates sandwich the leaf spring sides. Two attach points in the plates provide the user with a selection in which the forward Force Transfer Link rod end can be located. A machined aluminum spring eye bushing and steel insert supports the front of the spring while allowing the plates to pivot. A spring stop bolt controls and restricts spring wrap-up. Spacers are provided for different vehicle applications that control clearances in the front spring eye pocket

2. Force Transfer Link

This is a length of chromoly tubing with CNC machined threaded inserts TIG welded into each end. The front Insert is machined with right hand Threads and a HEX outer shape for Simple wrench adjustment of the Installed assembly. The rear insert is Left hand threaded. Opposite thread Styles at each end provide the means to easily lengthen or shorten the link for desired pre-load adjustment.

3. Rear Mount

A welded ¼" steel assembly replaces the original vehicles spring perch and incorporates the mounting provisions for the rear rod end of the Force Transfer Link.

Caltrac Ultimate Wheelie Bar

The triangulation of the design forces the tire into the ground when pressure is applied to the roller rather than just transferring the load onto the conventional wheelie bar rollers and lifting the rear wheels off the ground.  The more pressure you apply to the roller the harder it pushes down on the axle and tires.



The system allows 2 adjustment points to give a total of 4" up and down.


Because the system applies pressure to the axle rather than unload the axle only one wheel is needed and the car will stay straight and stable.


The contact patch of the upper wheel needs to have a reinforcement plate on the floor pan to handle the load. 3" by 10" 3/16 steel


The spring cushions the load and applies a smooth weight transfer without violent slamming together of the components.


           

Measure the center to center of the rear springs






1. Set the car on the ground

2. Measure on a level plane 28" back from the axle tube.

3. Measure from the floor pan to the ground.

4. Mark the 28" point on the floor pan and weld in a plate 3"x10" to carry the load of the center or axis wheel (fig 7)

If you car is too short to get the plate at 28" call for instructions
